Coaching for veterinarians navigating the challenges of practice, leadership, and life.
About you

AbouT You

You care deeply about your work- sometimes more than is healthy.

You show up for your patients, your clients, and your team, even on the days when you're stretched thin and tired of pretending you are fine. You want to make a difference, but the pace, pressure, and constant emotional demands of veterinary practice leave you feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to regain your footing.

Because I spent many years in veterinary practice, the coaching conversations I offer are grounded in a deep understanding of the realities of the profession.

Maybe you're noticing the signs. The stress that lingers long after you get home. The tension you carry into conversations. The sense that your confidence isn't quite where it used to be. You're capable, committed, and compassionate - but you're also human, and the job asks a lot of you.

If you're honest, you'd like more than just resilience. You want a career and a life that feel purposeful, balanced, and within your control. You want to handle challenging moments without spiralling, communicate with clarity, lead with calm confidence, and reconnect with the parts of this work that used to energize you rather than exhaust you.

You don't need fixing. You don't need to be tougher. You need better tools and support that make sense for veterinary life - the kind that help you show up as your best self consistently, not just on your good days.

If any of this sounds familiar, you're in the right place, and you are not alone.

If you are motivated, willing to learn, and ready to commit to developing your best self, then let's connect.

Even one conversation can help bring perspective to what you are experiencing.

Our initial conversation is complimentary and always confidential.

Veterinarians don’t need more pressure. What they often need most is a moment to step back, think clearly, and reconnect with why they chose the profession in the first place.

Coaching provides a quiet, thoughtful space to do that.

Individual Coaching for Veterinarians and Professionals

Veterinary medicine asks a great deal of those who practice it. The work is meaningful, but it can also be emotionally demanding, complex, and at times isolating. Many veterinarians carry the weight of high expectations, difficult decisions, and constant responsibility without a place to process their experiences.

Coaching offers that space.

In our conversations, we focus on what is most present in your life and work right now. Some clients come to coaching overwhelmed or burned out. Others want to grow as leaders, improve communication within their teams, or navigate important career decisions.

Coaching is not about giving advice or quick fixes. It is about creating the space to reflect, gain perspective, and develop the habits of thinking that help you approach your work with greater clarity and steadiness.

Common areas we explore in coaching include

• navigating stress and emotional fatigue in clinical practice
• strengthening confidence in decision-making
• improving communication with colleagues, staff, and clients
• developing leadership presence within a clinic or organization
• creating healthier boundaries between work and personal life
• reconnecting with a sense of purpose and satisfaction in the profession

Sessions are confidential, practical, and guided by what matters most to you.

If you would like to explore whether coaching might be helpful, we can begin with a brief introductory conversation.  There is no pressure and no commitment, simply an opportunity to connect and see whether working together feels like a good fit.

Who I work with

Most of the people I work with are veterinarians and health-care professionals who care deeply about their work and the people around them. They may be early in their careers and navigating the steep learning curve of practice, or experienced clinicians and leaders facing new challenges in leadership, communication, or career direction. I also work with veterinarians who are beginning to think about the transition toward retirement and want to navigate that stage of life with clarity, purpose, and intention.

About me

AbouT Me

Doctor Bill

I’ve lived the veterinary life from many angles: the long days, the emotional whiplash, the challenges of leading teams, and the quiet moments at home when you wonder if you can keep going at this pace.

After more than 35 years in veterinary medicine, I understand how deeply rewarding this profession can be - and how demanding it can become.

Over the years, I’ve been a small animal practitioner, earned my ABVP certification, and entered management as the owner of two AAHA-accredited hospitals. I’ve supervised large teams, trained new graduates, and seen what the toll can take on the most passionate veterinarians.

Those years gave me a close-up view of what helps people thrive in this profession - and what slowly wears them down. I saw brilliant colleagues lose confidence, kind people carry impossible loads, and talented veterinarians doubt their value because they were exhausted, overwhelmed, or facing pressures they didn’t feel equipped to bear.

Coaching became the turning point for me. Through my own training and growth, I learned that most people don’t need “fixing.” What they need is space to breathe, tools that actually work in real clinical life, and someone who understands the emotional demands of the profession. I trained as a leadership coach and later as a Positive Intelligence Coach, blending the two so I could help veterinarians develop mental fitness, emotional agility, and the kind of clarity that makes the work feel fulfilling again.

Today, I help people strengthen the mindset skills that make tough days manageable, decisions clearer, and boundaries healthier. My clients learn how to step out of old habits that drain them and move toward a life that feels steady, meaningful, and aligned with who they really are.

Over the years, my family has been my anchor - my wife, our grown children, and the many pets who’ve followed us through every chapter of this journey. They remind me what balance actually looks like, and why helping veterinarians find their own steadiness matters so much. Life outside the clinic is just as important as the work we do inside it.

What I care about most is seeing you rediscover the parts of yourself the profession has pushed to the background - your confidence, your purpose, your sense of possibility. Coaching isn’t about perfection or productivity. It’s about building a foundation that can carry you through the real, messy, meaningful days of veterinary practice and life.

If you’re ready to explore what that could look like for you, I’d be glad to talk.

Coaching is an investment in you.

Testimonials

Dr. P.B. Ontario, Canada

Coaching helped me identify my Saboteurs and the sources of unnecessary stress that were holding me back. The daily practices and tools allowed me to shift from stress to clarity. Situations that once ruined my entire day now affect me for only a few minutes. In the end, I am calmer, more focused, and have set realistic goals.

Thank you, Dr. Bill, for being an incredible coach.
